The Board of Pulse Australia Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Wilson as Chairman, following the retirement from the position of long term incumbent, Victorian grower, Mr Gerald Feeny.
"On behalf of Pulse Australia, I'd like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Gerald Feeny as Chairman during the last six years and I am delighted that he will continue to remain on the Board," Mr Wilson said.
"As the peak pulse industry body, Pulse Australia plays a pivotal role in advancing the pulse industry in Australia. I'm honoured to be elected as Chairman and look forward to working with the members of the Board of Pulse Australia and the broader membership."
Peter brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the position, including extensive knowledge of the agribusiness value chain, plant and animal genetics, production systems, quality assurance, logistics, risk and capital management and international marketing.
Peter is currently Manager - Global Supply Chain for JK International Pty Ltd, a Brisbane-based global commodity trader. He holds a postgraduate qualification in Agribusiness from Monash University and lectures for the Commodities and Risk Management Unit offered by the University of Queensland.
Previously, Mr Wilson was the President of JK's Americas operations based in Vancouver. Prior to this, he held a range of positions with AWB (formerly the Australian Wheat Board).
In addition to the appointment of Mr Wilson as Chairman, the membership of Pulse Australia has appointed three new directors, including Mr Sanjiv Dubey, Ms Angela Greenhalgh and Ms Caroline Rhodes.
Together with Mr Wilson and Mr Feeny, they will be joined by deputy chairman, Mr David Matthews, Mr Ron Storey, Mr Francois Darcas, Mr Geoff Budd and Mr Denis Logan to form the new Board of Pulse Australia.
