Global Biosecurity 2010 Conference 28 February - 3 March 2010 Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Queensland
The frenetic increase in the pace of people movement and international trade present challenges for the future of our agricultural industries and native environments. While our global inter-connectedness increases opportunities for economic success and community development, it also increases the risk of spreading harmful pests and diseases.
In order to manage this risk, governments, agricultural industries and environmental organisations are coming together to discuss best-practice scientific and regulatory strategies to tackle the entire biosecurity continuum; pre-border, border and post-border.
For the first time in Australia, Global Biosecurity 2010: safeguarding agriculture and the environment provides an opportunity for these organisations to explore:
• the drivers behind biosecurity
• understanding risks in order to address biosecurity issues
• accessing the right information at the right time
• policy, regulation and operation procedures
The conference is being hosted by the Cooperative Research Centre for National Plant Biosecurity, the Australian Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre for Emerging Infectious Disease and the Invasive Animals Cooperative Research Centre.
Global Biosecurity 2010 will host a broad range of experts discussing practical and effective biosecurity practices and exchanging knowledge on best practice systems. It will involve the ‘who's who' of the biosecurity world and is an event that anyone with an interest in the ongoing success of our agricultural industries and a vibrant natural environment should attend. Savings on early registrations are now available. Visit www.globalbiosecurity2010.com for more information.
